Fundraise for SU2C: Create Your Own Online Fundraiser

Anyone can Stand Up to Cancer. Maybe you are juggling a lot already, but you still want to Stand Up To Cancer. Not everyone has the time and energy needed to host a real world event or run a race for SU2C. And that's ok! You can set up your own fundraising page and start asking for donations right now.

You're standing for something important. Your fundraiser is online, but in the real world it fuels innovative research. SU2C promotes the scientific collaboration that leads to breakthroughs. So show the world where you stand.

Fundraising is fun. It's even more fun with a little friendly competition. Who could you challenge to raise the most for SU2C? Your co-workers? Or maybe your online book club? Or maybe it's all about you.

Start a team or go it alone - all that matters is getting started. You make your page and add stories, photos and updates. Then ask for donations. We'll give you the tips and tools you need to make it a success.

Jensi

SU2C Thanks Jensi Sweatt and Virgin America

Virgin America challenged staff members to compete online to raise money to fund SU2C's groundbreaking research. Jensi raised $1,295 online and Virgin America employees raised over $5,800 in the first year of their employee challenge.

As Jensi stated:
"Cancer takes one life every minute. Each minute lives are altered by the loss or battle of a loved one or a friend. Please join me in taking a stand and fighting back both in honor of the ones who are no longer with us as well as those who are still fighting back."

Here's Why It Matters: Funding Collaborative Research

Stand Up To Cancer brings together talented scientists and doctors from different institutions to collaborate on Dream Teams.
The goal:  Speed up the discovery of new therapies across all cancer types, and get them to patients.

So far, SU2C has funded 16 Dream Teams, 2 Translational Research Grants, and 26 Innovative Research Grants.

We're getting results. Results like a new first-line therapy for advanced pancreatic cancer. And expedited FDA approval of a treatment for advanced breast cancer. SU2C delivers on its commitment to move promising work from the lab bench to the patient's bedside within three years.

"It's the best dollar spent in this country for support of cancer research and benefit of patients"

Phillip A. Sharp, Ph.D., Nobel Laureate
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Chairman of SU2C's Scientific Advisory Committee
