I will briefly tell you my story...a story of a man who was an idol, mentor and teacher. He was not famous but that did not matter. He was my Father. Four months before my wedding not only did we learn that our best man had lukemia but my father was diagnosed with colon cancer. When we found out I was confused and felt alone. I did not know where to find information or support. Years later I found myself surrounded by people asking me questions on how and what my family had gone through. I also joined a chat room in which I was surrounded by more questions. I wanted to volunteer my time to Hospice in which they are Angles sent from above. But having two small children and a husband on call 24/7 I saw how the chat room I was in was reaching people. The chat room was not even related to cancer issues. It was Barry Gibbs (former Bee Gees member) chat room. So because of his chat room that gave me the idea of starting my own. Embrace Serenity -Cancer Support Group www.sb-embraceserenity.com. I blog important informational articles and important links to help people find information and support. Support goes along way...even just listening goes along way. Remember that everyone has a built in support group with family members and friends. Use them and let them into your support network.
Wish you all best health, Sue
