Stimulus Package Signed -- Thanks For Your Help!

On Tuesday President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act into law. The stimulus package includes $10 billion in funding for the National Institutes of Health, which in turn funds the majority of cancer research in the US.

Thanks to everyone in the SU2C community who took time out of their lives to e-mail their senators about the importance of this funding. Grassroots support makes a big difference in the fight against cancer!

Now let's pray that kidney cancer receives appropriate funding. It is expected to increase
over 30 % this year and has been increasing for
the past 65 years.

When a 17 year old can do a science project and discover that crl in meat can posibly cure colon cancer, and a man with leukemia came up with radio wave machine than can kill cancer cells by laying in his machine, And DR. Mic from md anderson researcher discovers that dca given to rats shrunk tumors it is obvious that chemo and radiation are a thing of the past. What are we stupid. looking back we will say why did we not work together as a people and fight this disease. instead we take the treatment that is given knowing it just does not produce the results. Chemo and radiation due at times produce some results at killing cancer cells but also causes cancer. For over 60 years chemo has been the drug of choice but why is this so. It is not gentle, it causes cancer, it is poisions to the body, lowers the immune system, and causes a host of many more problems. So for 60 years we have made very little progress why is this? These questions need real answers and i for one want to know. Cancer has killed more than any other disease known to man yet our therapies have not improved much in 60 years. When nixon declared a war on cancer I dont think he meant it. People are tired of the same old therapies and excuses. We need a change in how cancer is dealt with as a whole. A colonoscopy given at 45 minimum because this is when polyps start to form. Early detection saves lives. And it should be government funded so people that can not afford these preventative test can get them. There are so many flaws in our system they just dont work. Greed has taken hold and that is why our families and friends continue to suffer. If a cure comes dont expect it to come from government established medical researchers or mainstream medical because they are so entrenched in treating cancer with the same old tools that where accidently discovered mind you 60 years ago. Also ct scans cause cancer did your doc tell you that the last time you had one. God will us the answers we need big gov can not supress it forever. So my question is this with all the research tools and knowledge about the causes and possible cure why are we not closure to solving cancer? My guess is that the entrenched establishments that where created by the people have taken us over. We have all bought into the idea that our interest and welfare are a consideration of the establishment. This cannot be further from the truth. I have researched chemo its sucsesses, failures, evolution of and its origination and i am truely convinced we can do much better than this 60 year old that only saves a few. search yourself dont take it from me.
