Walk, Run, & Bike to Support SU2C
Posted on January 16, 2013, 10:00 AM
January is halfway through! Are you sticking to your new year’s resolutions?
As you may already know, the most common resolutions of quitting smoking, getting fit, and spending more time with family and friends are all crucial to fighting cancer. Not giving up on your goals, even if you do slip up, is just as important. So even if you’ve skipped a workout day or two, don’t use it as an excuse to abandon ship.
Today’s focus is the “getting fit” part of many people’s resolutions. And if it’s not part of your resolutions, it should be. In addition to all the physical and emotional benefits of a regular exercise regimen, The National Cancer Institute points out strong evidence that physical activity is associated with reduced risk of colon and breast cancers, with several studies also reporting links between physical activity and reduced risk of endometrial, lung, and prostate cancers.
Need even more incentive to stick to your resolution of getting and staying fit? Now there are two ways your walking, running, and biking can support SU2C’s cutting-edge cancer research!
